"I have always loved singing but never ever did anything about it. When I was at school I always entered the school talent show and sang solo in the school musical sessions and that's as far as it went. A dear friend said to me one day would I like to join a Gospel choir and I was going through a really bad time and I was not sure, but loved gospel music so I thought I would try. I have really enjoyed my two years and I find that singing in a choir is so uplifting."

"I think my 1st memory of Gospel music is of Mahalia Jackson singing 'Joy to the World' on a Vinyl Christmas album when I was maybe 5 years old. Since then I've loved this genre and had dreamt of joining a gospel choir for 11 years. When I heard about Chelmsford Gospel Choir and went to my 1st rehearsal last October, it was a long awaited dream come true ! Previous to this I had sung at school and in an Anglican Choir but nothing touched me then like the music I am now singing - it's fun, exciting, uplifting and food for the soul."

"I've always loved to sing but never had the courage to pursue it as a hobby. When a friend encouraged me to join CCGC I didn't think it was for me. I then saw the choir perform in Chelmsford in 2010 and was struck by how much fun the members were having, their joy was quite infectious! I decided it was time to take the plunge and haven't looked back. Any pre-conceptions I had fell away on day one; to my surprise rehearsals only require a small time commitment each week and all ages and abilities are welcomed and it's great stress busting fun. Singing with the choir is my weekly activity which takes very little and gives back a whole lot!"

"Hello, my name is Danielle and I sing with the Altos for Chelmsford Gospel Choir. I have been with the choir for about a year (I found them through the website) and I absolutely love being a member of such a positive, encouraging and fun group. I leave rehearsals on a Thursday feeling uplifted and excited about the fantastic music we sing. I love to sing, and get butterflies in my stomach when our songs and harmonies come together!"
